Hippo-campus
My hippocampus,
Isn't as big as a hippo,
He weighs 3.5 tons,
And this is very typical.
Can the hippo?
Be a hippy hippo?
Letting his hair grow long,
A rebellious kind of mammal?
He's got short legs,
He doesn't wear any shoes,
He goes to the water,
To pick up the river groove.
Africa, his address,
Go look him up,
On the telephone,
Fax, e-mail,
Or take a bus.
Memory, emotion,
Or my basic drives,
The hippocampus,
Keeps my primitive mind,
Occupied.
Hippopotamus,
Hippocampus,
Things our creator,
Simply gave us.
