In My Study
Trying to write,
To stay in the loop,
Listening to New Wave,
With cold tea and wonton soup.
Hanging around,
Pen behind my ear,
Coming up with lyrics,
So many times a year.
After ideas,
And thoughts I'll bring,
I'll be set up,
To want to sing.
Letters, words, phrases,
Could be serious or funny,
Somewhere in between,
And right on the money!
In my study,
Thinking by myself,
Getting inspired,
From classics on my shelves.
